Near Dunedin, a community living trust that provides residential support for people with learning disabilities is looking for caring, dependable Support Workers for its Permanent Relief Team. The post is full-time with 40 hours a week, and the trust's approach rests on person-centred care, inclusion and community connection.
Variety is part of the job. You would be helping people towards fulfilling, independent lives in a safe, warm, home-like setting, working days, afternoons, evenings, awake nights, split shifts and weekends. The trust is an Accredited Employer, ready to back AEWV sponsorship applications for appropriately experienced and qualified candidates, and the job is approved at skill level 4. Applicants must already have the right to work in New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
- Help residents with everyday routines: shopping, cooking and household chores
- Look after personal care in a safe and respectful way
- Take people out into the community and encourage independence, choice and wellbeing
- Stick to each support plan and keep records accurate
Requirements & Eligibility
- A respectful, person-centred way of working with people who have learning disabilities
- Common sense and the ability to work without close supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with good computer skills
- Experience as a Support Worker / Caregiver / Healthcare Assistant in NZ, or a Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 2 or higher), would meet the experience requirement
- Weekend and shift flexibility
- A full New Zealand driver's licence (essential)
- The right to work in New Zealand
