Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This page explains, without legal jargon, how personal information is handled on JobsAbroad Kenya (jobsabroad.ke): which details reach us, how they get here, what we use them for and the choices you have.
1. The short version
- You never create an account. Jobs and guides can be read by anyone.
- We show no adverts. Visits are measured with Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, and both of them place cookies in your browser.
- Your CV, phone number and messages arrive only when you choose to send them, by email or through WhatsApp.
- You may ask us at any time to show you, fix or delete what we hold about you.
2. Who is in charge of your data
JobsAbroad Kenya belongs to Red Migration FZC, which is registered as a company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and runs the site. It acts as the data controller: it decides why and how personal data collected here is used, and answers for that use.
You can reach it by email at jobs@jobsabroad.ke, by phone or WhatsApp on +971 50 283 2394, or by post at 108, 6th Street, Al Hamriya, Bur Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
3. What you choose to send us
Applying by email
Clicking Apply by email on a vacancy opens our contact page. When you select the email address there, your own mail app opens a new blank message addressed to jobs@jobsabroad.ke. Our website sends no message on your behalf, and we receive nothing until you press send.
What goes into the message is up to you. Applicants in Kenya commonly include:
- their name, mobile number and email address;
- a CV with work history and the names of referees;
- school or trade certificates (KNEC and NITA, for instance), a degree or other qualifications;
- a scan of a passport or visa, if they decide to attach one.
WhatsApp conversations
The Ask on WhatsApp button starts a private chat with our team. The moment you write to us we can see your number and WhatsApp profile name, as well as whatever you share: messages, documents, photos or voice notes.
The vacancy channel
Our WhatsApp channel only pushes out announcements of new jobs. Joining it does not open a chat with us. The channel runs on WhatsApp and its owner Meta, whose own privacy terms cover it.
Phone calls and letters
If you telephone or write to us, we know only what you tell us. Every way of reaching us is listed on the contact page, and that page has no form on purpose.
4. What is recorded when you visit
Each page request leaves a small technical trace. Google Cloud writes a log entry giving the IP address, browser and device type, the page asked for and the time. Those entries are removed after 30 days.
Our server also tallies how many requests each IP address makes. That tally lives only in memory and stops a single source from overloading the site. Both records serve to fix faults and keep out abuse. We do not use them to find out who you are.
5. Visit statistics (analytics)
To learn which pages are useful and where visitors give up, JobsAbroad Kenya uses two tools: Google Analytics 4 from Google LLC, and Microsoft Clarity from Microsoft Corporation.
What they record: pages opened, how far you scroll, which links and buttons you press, and the device, browser and country you visit from. Both depend on cookies and similar technologies. Clarity additionally produces heatmaps and session replays of clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and masks anything typed into form fields. As the Microsoft Privacy Statement describes, Microsoft may also draw on this data for advertising.
What they never receive: your name, your email address or anything typed into a form. The one exception is the search box: a job or trade you search for is passed to Google Analytics as a search term. The advertising features of Google Analytics are switched off.
Where to read more: Google's privacy policy, the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Our Cookie Policy names every cookie.
6. What we deliberately leave out
Searching and filtering jobs happens in your browser and in the address bar, so nothing about it is saved in our database. Our own code stores nothing on your device apart from one timestamp, which lets a page reload cleanly after a new release. Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. A YouTube video loads from youtube-nocookie.com only when you tap it. The Cookie Policy gives the details.
Visitors do not log in. The sole login sits on a hidden admin page used by our staff to publish jobs and articles. It relies on Firebase Authentication, a Google service, and admits only people whose email address appears on our staff list.
7. What we do with your information
- Compare your background and documents with the vacancy you picked.
- Pass your application to the employer who advertised that job.
- Answer you on whichever channel you wrote to us.
- Organise what comes next, such as an interview or further paperwork.
- Keep the site safe and working, using logs and request limits.
- Comply with legal duties that apply to us.
What you send us is never used for advertising or profiling, and it is never handed to the analytics tools.
8. Why we are allowed to use it
Data protection law requires us to state our justification for using personal data. Ours are these:
- your consent, which you give by contacting us and can take back whenever you like;
- preparing for a contract, because processing your application moves you towards the job you asked about;
- legitimate interests, namely keeping the site secure and functioning;
- legal obligation, where a law requires us to retain or disclose information.
9. Who gets to see it
Only parties with a genuine need have access:
- our own team, who read and answer your messages;
- the employer that placed the job you applied for, normally in Australia or New Zealand (another employer only with your agreement);
- Google Cloud, which hosts our web server (Cloud Run), database (Cloud Firestore), logs and staff login. The database holds published jobs, guides and videos, not files from visitors;
- our email provider, which delivers and stores messages sent to jobs@jobsabroad.ke;
- WhatsApp (Meta), which carries chats and the job channel;
- courts, the police or other authorities, solely where the law forces us to disclose.
10. Where data is kept and sent
Our web server and database run on Google Cloud in Belgium (European Union). The company is based in the UAE and most employers are in Australia or New Zealand. Our email provider, Google and Meta may also process data in other countries.
So an application from Kenya can cross several legal systems, each with its own privacy rules. Where moving data abroad needs safeguards, we rely on the contractual and technical protections our providers maintain, and every step is given only the data it needs.
11. How long we keep it
Emails and chats are kept for as long as your application, any recruitment that follows or a legal duty needs them. No fixed period applies. Ask us to delete them and we will, unless the law obliges us to keep a record. Server logs are erased after 30 days, and request tallies stay in memory for only a few minutes.
12. How we protect it
All connections use HTTPS, and HSTS tells browsers never to drop back to an unencrypted one. The database cannot be reached from the internet, only from our server. Only approved staff can enter the admin page, and request limits slow down bots and password guessing.
No online service is perfectly secure. We therefore suggest you keep copies of your passport to yourself until an employer or our team really needs them.
13. What you can ask of us
In general you may request a copy of your data, ask for corrections or deletion, restrict how it is used or object to some uses. Which of these rights you hold depends on where you live and which law governs the data.
UAE. Red Migration FZC is established in the UAE, so the federal personal data protection law of the UAE applies where relevant. It provides rights to access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and a portable copy.
Kenya. We respect the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 where it applies. If you live in Kenya and are unhappy with how we have dealt with your data, please contact us first; you may also be able to complain to the data protection authority in Kenya.
Other countries. Australia, New Zealand and many other countries have privacy laws with similar rights. Tell us which law you rely on and we will honour it.
14. How to ask
Write to jobs@jobsabroad.ke and describe what you want us to do. We may first need to check who you are, so that your data does not go to someone else. You will get an answer within the period the law allows. Should we be unable to grant any part of your request, for example because a record has to be retained, we will tell you why.
15. Young people
JobsAbroad Kenya is meant for job seekers who are 18 or older. If you learn that someone younger has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
16. Links to other sites
Our pages link to WhatsApp, YouTube, social networks and official government websites. The footer also points to a few other sites: Skills Assessment Australia (rpldirect.com.au), Build AI CV (buildaicv.com), Talent Tabloid (talenttabloid.com) and English test practice (practisenow.com). Their own policies take over once you arrive, so read them before you give personal details.
17. Changes to this page
Changes to the site, our providers or the law may mean this policy needs revising. When that happens, the date at the top is updated, and the text shown here is the version in force.
