Sous Chef

Visa sponsorship

Hospitality · Whangarei, New Zealand · Full-Time · $35/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored

A waterfront restaurant in Northland, known for fresh flavours, local produce and relaxed dining, is hiring a Sous Chef. The Sous Chef partners with the Executive Chef, helps lead the kitchen crew and keeps the whole operation steady, even on the heaviest days.

The post is permanent or fixed-term, and at least 30 hours a week are on offer. New Zealand work eligibility is preferred, but the restaurant may consider sponsorship for a suitable chef.

Sous chefs in Nairobi or Mombasa can show leadership on a CV by naming the size of the brigade led, the services run and the standards kept. Make a sous chef CV with Build AI CV and keep leadership examples near the top.

  • Keep communication between front of house and the kitchen flowing
  • Check each dish leaving the kitchen for quality, quantity, presentation and temperature
  • Run regular on-the-job training and treat all staff fairly and courteously
