A Gold Coast café with a high-volume kitchen is looking for an experienced, motivated Sous Chef to be part of its kitchen leadership alongside the Head Chef and another Sous Chef. Together you run the day-to-day operation, steer busy services and keep food and kitchen standards high.
This suits a seasoned Sous Chef or a strong senior chef who is ready to step up. The employer is willing to consider sponsorship for the right candidate, who must have experience in a similar role and pass a 6-month probation period.

Key Responsibilities
- Steady the crew when services get busy and step in wherever you are needed
- Share running the kitchen with the Head Chef and the second Sous Chef
- Sort out prep and who works which section
- Make sure each plate looks right, tastes right and matches the last one
- Uphold food safety and keep the kitchen spotless
- Teach and look after the team, take charge when the Head Chef is not there, and help keep the atmosphere positive and professional
Requirements & Eligibility
- Solid time in a busy, high-volume café or comparable kitchen
- Past roles as a Sous Chef, senior chef or supervisor
- Self-assured leading a team through a busy service
- Well organised and a clear communicator
- Steady under pressure, hands-on and ready to take ownership while working beside the team
- Good understanding of food quality and consistency
- Available 5 days per week, including Saturday and Sunday
