Regional northern Victoria is the setting for a hotel venue that has an opening for a qualified chef. It suits someone keen to escape the city or step up in their career, pick up more experience and join a strong team.
The chef reports directly to the Venue Manager and is responsible for leading each culinary team, bringing progressive ideas about food across a range of cuisines; volume-kitchen and function experience is an advantage. Sponsorship is available.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop menus and food costings.
- Control food standards and production, and the standards set by executive management.
- Manage labour and its costs.
- Assist with recruiting, inducting and training kitchen staff.
- Deliver the kitchen KPIs agreed.
- Communicate well with the management team and staff.
- Keep the kitchen hygienic, clean and safe.
Requirements & Eligibility
- A minimum of 2 years working in a similar high-volume venue.
- Cert III or Cert IV in Cookery.
- Professional, energetic and enthusiastic.
- Strong command of kitchen operations, particularly food quality and presentation.
- Financially capable when managing kitchen costs.
- Outstanding communicator in writing and speech.
- Strong leader who can run a multi-faceted kitchen.
- Hands-on, coaches and motivates the team, and builds team spirit venue-wide, with proven problem-solving.
