Out on a group of cattle stations in remote northern Western Australia, a pastoral company needs two skilled, experienced mechanics. Cars, trucks, motorbikes and all the station's machinery depend on them to keep going, and the work suits someone who enjoys practical problem-solving far from town.
The climate is harsh, so applicants have to be fit for heat and humidity. Random alcohol and drug testing is possible, and the company has zero tolerance for intoxication. Sponsorship is available for skilled, eligible applicants who meet the criteria set for the role, but only people with a long-term commitment should apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Service and repair the vehicles and machinery on a regular schedule
- Turn out to breakdowns and callouts
- Use machinery and tools safely
- Teach station staff the daily checks and services, and supervise them
- Log every part used so it can be reordered, and stock the parts needed most often
Requirements & Eligibility
- Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanics trade qualification, with at least 2 years of experience
- Mechanic experience in a comparable role, and real enthusiasm for life on a station
- Safe handling of diagnostic and test equipment on every vehicle in the fleet
- C Class driver's licence (essential)
- Motorcycle licence, HR or MC licence would be an advantage
- Efficient and safe with tools and equipment
- Can work alone or in a team in a remote location, and think up workable fixes when parts or tools are not at hand
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving strength; communication ability and a positive attitude would be an advantage
- Fit for high temperatures and high humidity
