Keeping coaches and buses on the road in Perth is the heart of this job. A family-owned transport and tourism business in Western Australia needs skilled, motivated mechanics for heavy vehicles, to make sure a varied fleet stays dependable, tidy and safe. Tasks include servicing, modifications, finding faults and repairing them, plus the odd assignment elsewhere in WA.
If you have worked on buses or coaches that counts strongly in your favour, but it is not essential. The company has casual and full-time work, with hours and shift patterns settled at interview. Employer sponsorship is open to suitably qualified applicants who are already in Australia with current working rights, and the closing date is 21 November 2026.
Heavy diesel mechanics in Nairobi or Mombasa should show vehicle types serviced, diagnostic work completed and any NITA trade test certificate, plus working at heights and high risk work tickets held. Build a diesel mechanic CV with Build AI CV and keep the workshop experience first.
Key Responsibilities
- Look after company vehicles and inspect them against company standards
- Diagnose faults in a range of heavy vehicles, then service and repair them
- Fit and repair mechanical components, and do general workshop maintenance and test drives when required
- Keep fleet and repair records in line with manufacturer specifications and the WA omnibus vehicle maintenance program, updating service records online
- Help look after monitoring systems such as wifi, GPS tracking, communications, CCTV and sensors
Requirements & Eligibility
- A trade qualification in heavy commercial vehicle mechanics, or something similar
- Heavy diesel vehicle experience, with buses and coaches preferred but not essential
- Strong diagnostic skills and an understanding of WA transport compliance rules
- Current Australian working rights
- A current driver's licence (HR class highly regarded)
- A working at heights certificate and the relevant high risk work licences, or a willingness to obtain them
