Trainers and assessors who hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment can pass on practical skills in a job where every learner gets hands-on, one-on-one coaching on an operating mine. The provider covers civil and mining work and wants graduates who are safe, confident and ready for employment.
Two vacancies exist. A Civil Trainer & Assessor (1x) works Monday-Friday on 8-12 hour shifts, with alternating Saturdays on offer. A Dozer / Excavator Trainer (1x) covers Production mining D11 & 3600, also Monday-Friday on 8-12 hour shifts, and splits time across 2 mine sites. The site lies roughly 60 minutes north of Perth CBD, so nobody flies in and out: you sleep at home each night, although optional FIFO Rigid Haul Truck training can be arranged. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate; full-time, casual, part-time and job share applications are all welcome.

Key Responsibilities
- Run nationally recognised training and competency-based assessments to a high standard.
- Coach each student one-on-one on machines, on a live operating mine site.
- Mentor learners towards genuine employment in civil and mining work.
- Apply site operating procedures and industry best practice.
- Work in line with the WHS Act 2020, Mines Safety and Inspection legislation and RTO standards.
- Sign off only those operators who are truly competent, protecting assessment integrity.
- Keep training and assessment records accurate.
- Support a collaborative training team and a safe, professional, positive learning space.
- Mining Trainer: pitch in on civil training when Dozer & Excavator courses are not on.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Currently holds TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110.
- Hands-on time operating civil and Mining equipment.
- Supervisory experience desirable.
- Keeps a cool head under pressure, decides quickly, and works either alone or in a Team.
- Time Management matters a great deal when customers are paying.
- Cares about helping people and about safety and training standards.
- Dependable, professional and on time.
- Willing to pass a pre-employment medical and daily breathalyser checks.
- Civil Trainer: current competency across multiple items of civil plant is highly regarded: Articulated Haul Truck (RIIMPO337E), Civil Construction Excavator (RIIMPO320F), Bulk Water Truck (RIIMPO206D), Front End Loader (RIIMPO321F), Roller (RIIMPO317F), Integrated Tool Carrier (RIIHAN311F), Skid Steer Loader (RIIMPO318F), Telehandler (RIIHAN309F), Rigid Haul Truck (RIIMPO338E).
- Mining Trainer: Dozer (RIIMPO323E) and Grader (RIIMPO324F); RII Qualifications are not required but desirable, and the civil plant units above are an added advantage.
