Brisbane's welding and fabrication sector has openings for special class welders, boilermakers and pipefitters in full-time jobs. Welding runs on the GMAW (STT), FCAW and GTAW processes. Pipefitting means putting together pipework, with its gaskets, valves and related equipment, in stainless and carbon steel to differing specifications.
A trade qualification is expected, together with leadership ability, strong technical knowledge, sound planning and confident verbal communication.
Welders and pipefitters in Nairobi or Mombasa should list processes used, materials welded and the kinds of piping or fabrication jobs completed, along with any NITA trade test certificate and leadership roles. Build a welder CV with Build AI CV so the technical detail is easy to scan.
Key Responsibilities
- Do welding with the GMAW (STT), FCAW and GTAW processes
- Put together pipes, gaskets, valves and related equipment to meet differing specifications, in stainless and carbon steel
- Work from drawings, reading and interpreting them
- Take the lead on the job and plan the work
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade qualified (the qualification is preferred for pipefitters)
- Professional experience in welding and fabrication, plus pipe laying experience for pipefitters
- Experience with stainless and carbon steel
- Able to read and interpret drawings, and to bring strong leadership, high-level technical knowledge, excellent planning and good verbal communication
- Australian work rights or sponsorship eligibility
