Steel gates and frames are made at this Perth fencing factory, and it needs another experienced hand. The Metal Fabricator / Welder forms, prepares and joins steel parts, builds frames, gates and other steel items and does MIG welding, with chances to try other areas of the factory floor.
This is meant as a long-term job. Applicants who are already residing in Australia and hold valid working rights can apply, Working Holiday visa holders (417/462) among them, provided their skills and experience fit and they are after steady work. If sponsorship follows, it would run under the subclass 482 Skills in Demand visa and hinge on the occupation, a skills assessment and the usual immigration requirements, so be ready to sit a formal skills assessment where one is needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Form, prepare and join steel components
- Build metal frames, gates and other steel products
- Do MIG welding and other welding processes as needed, then check finished welds and products for accuracy and quality
- Work from technical drawings and fabrication specifications
- Run fabrication machinery and use hand tools
- Pick up other areas of the manufacturing operation and help other teams when needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III/IV in metal fabrication or welding, or an overseas trade qualification of similar standing, backed by at least 12 months of relevant skilled work in the past five years
- Otherwise, at least three years in skilled metal fabrication and/or professional welding, even without formal qualifications
- Payslips plus employer references that back up when and in which skilled duties you worked
- Hands-on competence in welding and fabrication
- Living in Australia now with valid working rights, and readiness to take a formal skills assessment if required
