Clients in Tauranga are looked after at a unisex salon that is adding to its team, and it wants Hairdressers and Barbers who are experienced and creative. The work is hair care, styling and men's grooming, delivered to a high standard in a modern salon with air conditioning, with happy clients and good hygiene as the aim.
The salon is an accredited employer, so it can offer visa sponsorship support to a suitable candidate if required.

Key Responsibilities
- Talk each client through the look they want: a cut, a colour, a style, or men's grooming and beard shaping
- Work with shears, clippers, razors and other professional tools to trim, taper and shape hair
- Offer barbering extras: moustache and beard trims, wet shaves and hot towel treatments
- Wash, condition and treat the hair and scalp, then recommend products that suit
- Colour, tint, highlight and bleach hair, remove colour, and apply straightening, relaxing or perming treatments
- Finish styles with blow dryers, straighteners, curling irons and styling products, and explain how to keep the look and care for the scalp
- Keep tools, equipment and work areas sanitised to hygiene, health and safety standards, and handle bookings, schedules and payments
Requirements & Eligibility
- Full-time work as a Hairdresser or Barber for a minimum of two (2) years
- Technical skill in haircutting, colouring, styling and men's grooming that is proven
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with customer service front of mind
- Efficient, cooperative teamwork, backed by sound knowledge of hygiene and safety practices in a salon setting
